Amber Lynn was one of the first super stars of the adult industry during the video age, which saw a boom for the industry during the 1980’s. Amber was born and raised in Southern California and lost a parent at an early age. As a teenager, she got involved in the club scene in Los Angeles. During this time, she met a married man who covered all her expenses for several years until his wife found out. The club scene also allowed her to meet Althea Flynt, the wife of Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt. They soon became friends and not long after this, Lynn was posing for layouts in Hustler and other well know and popular magazines such as Penthouse. In 1983, she entered the adult film industry following in the footsteps of her dear friend Ginger Lynn. The two sexy friends, along with Porsche Lynn, became known as the "Three Lynns" and were amongst the most successful female stars of their time.

Lynn's early career was limited to one on one intercourse, oral sex, and lesbian scenes. At the time, she refused to partake in interracial scenes, and did not engage in anal sex. Amber was however, the first female in the industry to ever perform a double vaginal scene. It all happened by accident as she was in a scene for the Dark Brothers with Tom Byron and Peter North. As the double penetration occurred, she belted out “Oh That Feels So Good” and thus a potential blooper turned into a revolutionary act never before seen on film!

Amber was under constant badgering and pressure from her Older Brother who desperately wanted to get into the business. She ultimately introduced him (Buck Adams) to some producers who got him into the industry as both an actor and director. Amber and Buck kept the fact that they were siblings hidden until one producer requested they shoot a scene together, which forced them to reveal their bloodlines at that point.

Often compared to Melanie Griffith, Amber met fellow actor Jamie Gillis on the set of Ten Little Maidens. The duo became romantically involved and there are many tales of their scintillating off screen exploits such as performing sex acts in a theater while their movie was playing on the big screen. Amber and Jamie lived together for years, and he educated her in the finer points of on-screen sex.

Amber Lynn was a very close friend with actress Shauna Grant. In 1994, Shauna took her own life and this affected Amber deeply. A couple of years later, the adult industry was rocked by the Traci Lords underage scandal, and although Amber was not involved the combination of this and her dear friends suicide shook her confidence and she decided to stop making movies. She quit the business while she was arguable the top female attraction at the time. She began Feature Dancing and making personal appearances. During this time, she spent a lot of time with fellow Dancer Tracey Adams and the two eventually became involved in a torrid lesbian relationship.
